Since 2019, Destination Åsnen has worked with Green Destinations and been part of their Award program. In 2022, it was awarded the Platinum Award, the highest award in the program. This is proof of meeting 9.0 or more out of 10 possible points when evaluating about 100 sustainability aspects in the destination. At the last audit in 2024, Destination Åsnen received 9.3.
The determined work has also led to Åsnen being presented on an international website, The Good Travel Guide, which is aimed at people who want to travel to places where they actively work with sustainability.
